Eemyun Kang

b. 1981, Busan, Korea
live and work in Milan, Italy

Translating organic forms into lush abstraction, Eemyun Kang creates complex natural worlds marked by vivid colours. While she avoids the use of defined figurative elements to create her narratives, Kang’s seductive colours are often punctuated by quasi-anthropomorphised forms. The viewer is invited to drift between the paintings’ stories where tone, gesture and technique are revisited and re-deployed culminating in an immersive and every shifting experience.
